The Madrid City Hall has estimated the damage from heavy snowfall at least 20 million euros.
This snowfall broke the record set in 1971.

At the end of last week, the Philomena storm hit Spain! Snowfalls, rains, and strong gusts of wind.

Street cleaning continues in Madrid.

The movement of suburban trains, as well as partially buses, which did not run since Friday evening, has been resumed.




Vice-Mayor Begonia Villasis noted that damage to public buildings is estimated at 10 million, private buildings at 5 million, and 5.6 million under construction.

Due to severe ice, the Madrid City Hall is asking citizens to stay at home and work remotely if possible, schools are closed until January 18.


Regional authorities are urging the Spanish government to declare Madrid a disaster zone.
